‪To anyone who knew Tom, who witnessed him deliver his message of hope and optimism which always included the important and regular updates of the real progress that he and his team at The Cure Parkinson’s Trust are supporting and funding through the many donated and raised pennies and pounds from across the world (however small) will know how much he cared about us all, including those close to you and I equally affected by Parkinson’s.

‪When he was diagnosed before the age of 30, like me, little did he realise then that he had actually just started a new life. A life that would serve from that day onwards, to bring hope to the millions of people who have lived and those who still live with Parkinson’s today, but also their loved ones, around the world. ‬

‪When we last spoke on the phone a week ago, we reflected on the week before when we met at Baker Street and of the plans we had for meeting again on the 31st May. He was always about ‘what’s next?’ whenever we met. ‬

Tom never complained or had a moan about how hard Parkinson’s was for him or for Lyndsey to live with – as a couple they were always on top form, more interested in how I was feeling, how Jane was and my children. This was Tom.. that is Lyndsey. ‬

‪Its fair to say that Tom was equally as dedicated, constant, measured, steady and accurate in delivering his message of real progress, optimism, of hope for a better everything for everyone of us affected by parkinsons as he was to his love of music, singing and improving his golf swing.

‪Forever missed, loved and admired. A mentor, a role model to us all and always generous with your time, however busy your day might have been.

‪My inspiration to keep fighting, to continue in your foot-steps, you forever will be the ‬epitome of optimism. We have work still to do!

Loved and missed, your friend, David x
